So let’s get right down to it! I have a lot of people ask me about my hair, so I thought I’d answer a few of the most common questions I receive. I do wear hair extensions, I have for many years. I swear by them and anytime my hair is down, you bet I’m wearing them. I have thin hair, and love them to add thickness. My natural hair currently is pretty long but I still like to wear even longer extensions. My current extensions are made by Irresistible Me, and ladies believe me when I say they are the best extensions I have ever used. They are so thick, the clips are strong and stay in place all day, and they come with a lot of wefts. I need extensions that are high quality and will last as long as possible, if you wear them as often as I do you kinda depend on them. They do not feel weird or bother me in anyway I don’t even know that they are there. I don’t feel them at all! They don’t feel heavy or cause me to have any pain or irritation. Now, starting out you might feel different not necessarily in a uncomfortable way but you may notice they are there for a bit while you get use to them.
In my years of experience not as an expert of course, but as a consumer I have never known hair extensions to be damaging to my natural hair. I’m told by my stylist I have very healthy hair, if you are someone thinking about trying them I thought I’d share. That’s always an often asked question! I do use a heat protector on both my hair and my hair extensions, this just protects the extensions and aids in them lasting longer. I do my best to take care of them! I spray them with TRESemmé Heat Tamer, then run a flat iron over the top of the hair this is for the waves that naturally develop around the clip area. Then I curl the bottom portion of the hair.
This is the first weft and includes 4 clips, it’s the thickest piece. I like to use it as my starting piece, I simply part my hair around the base of my neck and layer by layer work my way up. This way the top portion of my hair covers the extensions, that works for me! I’m very good at concealing them, and I have very thin hair so if you are worried about coverage because you also have thin hair don’t be. Practice makes perfect, I can literally put all my extensions in my hair in under one minute. If the thought of that is keeping you from trying them, it’s super easy. My biggest tip would be to pick a shade that blends with your hair almost perfectly. That’s always key for me, I will not purchase them if I don’t think they will blend super naturally with my own hair. I want hair that is pretty much identical to my own. This is the color I’m using from The Royal Remi line. I went for the 24 inch length, but they range from 14 inches all the way up to 24 inches so you can find the right length for you! So, I part and section my hair using my fingers. You can use a comb if you wish. It seems I’m always in a rush so I just go for a quicker alternative, then I just tease the hair so the clip will stay in place all day and place the weft clip by clip on the part line. I part of the next section of hair and repeat the same process. Tease then clip! Placing both of the 3 clip wefts along the middle of my head. The process takes place one more time with the 2 clip piece, I use one on each side. Just tease and clip!
It’s just that simple! I don’t use every weft that’s included, It comes with 10 pieces and I use about 5. They are very thick, and that’s all I need. I do go to my stylist to have the hair cut to blend better! If you have any other questions feel free to email me, or comment and I will get back to you.
