Pregnancy

Monday blues anyone?! Not me! I fear the weekend these days, if I go into labor on the weekend I’m not guaranteed my doctor but rather an ”on call” doctor. I’ve seen my doctor the past 9 months of pregnancy and I’m sure in the heat of the moment I won’t really care who delivers my baby but I don’t like the thought of not having my doctor deliver my baby. So this being the first weekend I’m considered full term or 37 weeks I’m glad I made it to Monday. Now I know it isn’t common for first time moms to deliver early but since my weeks change on a Friday it makes me a little nervous because I could hit 40 weeks and be holding my breath through the weekend.

It’s only 2 days out of 7, so I should be good right?!

I have a new symptom of my feet swelling pretty badly, it doesn’t hurt and isn’t really uncomfortable just not cute to look at. I also can’t wear a lot of shoes, like booties or many pairs of boots. Some still work so I’m grateful, but you better believe I could barely walk in these over the knee boots I’m wearing and they came right off after these photos were taken.

Other than that, I’m still liking pregnancy. I’m not uncomfortable, I can sleep through the night, and I’m not overly tired. So if you ever worry pregnancy isn’t great, I hear to tell you it really isn’t so bad. My only hiccup was in the first trimester before I ever announced I battled morning sickness like the never ending flu but that seems like a lifetime ago and I can barely remember it. Even if your pregnancy is miserable or you don’t really like being pregnant, I hear you forget all about it once it’s over. So if all else fails you can hold on to that! Ha! To be perfectly honest, though, I’d do it again it really isn’t different from normal day to day life minus your size of course. 😉

Fashion

This sweater is so comfortable and perfectly oversized I’m wearing an x- small and it still works with the bump. So it’s a great fall piece for a slouchy, oversized look. It’s also under $60, so the price point is fairly reasonable.

This hat and these boots matched the sweater so well, not to mention the heel on the boots gave me a bit of extra confidence because of the extra height and elongating of my otherwise very swollen legs. Ha! Even though I only wore the boots for about 5 minutes. Pregnancy and heels are not one of the best combos!

Thanks for reading and stopping by ladies. God bless you and God bless America!

Pregnancy Brain

So you are probably thinking “Girl…that belly!” Yes, you are right I’m almost considered ”full term.” However, I forgot I was pregnant because that’s totally normal to do when your next big life event is labor and delivery while walking through Target and I got this shirt in extra small. You know those moments in life you wonder why, while this was one of them. Maybe pregnancy brain is the culprit?! It works, though, like the length isn’t bad. The good news is my bare round belly isn’t popping out the bottom, like those cute guys in movies that wear tank tops drinking a beer on an old rusty boat. I mean that would be adorable, but this time, I’m glad it didn’t happen!

Fashion

This cardigan is fun for the season because it’s colorful yet keeps you warm. So if you’re not up for wearing a neutral color cardigan, this is the perfect compromise. Also, I should mention the sunglasses I’m wearing are a collaboration between Desi Perkins and Quay. They were released once and sold out within minutes I believe, the fans were so upset by this they did a second launch so get them while you can if you like them. I got them in two colors. I loved the colors, style, and shape.

God bless and I hope your week is filled with lots of joy and accomplishments. Let’s get some stuff crossed off our lists!

Let’s talk fashion

Having fun with some layers for the weekend. This scarf is super cute and lightweight, so I can still wear it even if it isn’t considered “cold” outside. It’s fun to wear blanket scarves I think they are so adorable, and festive for fall and winter but this is Arizona and the weather just doesn’t permit it at times. October being one of those times, but we always have November and December! I paired it with this long sleeve tee that matched great, yet isn’t to heavy or thick but isn’t see-through either so if I was feeing warm in the leather jacket I could easily take it off without worrying about people seeing more then they’d like.

So I’m Arizona layering…haha. It’s similar to Florida layering, or I think it would be anyway. I know we are the two states that have what seems like 1 season forget the other 3. Ha! Really though, it doesn’t get super cold in Arizona. It’s just delayed but when it hits…oh boy does it. Plus walking around in over 100 degrees for like 8-9 months really does do pretty incredible things to your blood, just think water. Yep! Just so, super thin. How could you stay warm?!

Except maybe, possibly if you’re pregnant but my pregnancy will probably be over before the super cold season comes in. Sucks for me in a way, because just thinking about how cold I was last winter is giving me the shivers. So lots of layers for me, and not the light kind that I’m wearing today.

Other things

So on a more personal note, I’m getting there with the hospital bag. Just getting some last minute things to really be finished. I know a few ladies were asking about a ‘what’s in my hospital’ bag post. Would this be something you guys would be interested in seeing?! If I get enough interest I will share everything once I get it together.

God bless

Hello ladies! I somehow landed in the middle of the week…again. I have been so busy with getting everything ready for my baby. I’m not sure if I’m ”nesting” per say since I’m naturally a Type A natured person, but I’ve been trying to get ready for the big day. I pre-registered at the hospital I’m delivering at and got everything in order to have my baby’s cord blood and tissue saved. I still need to pack my hospital and diaper bag, but I pretty much have everything I need in order to do it. I ordered some really cute bags for the hospital so I’m waiting for those to come in, but I’m going to put everything aside so it’s as simple as putting everything in the bag! I need to get my husband’s bag ready as well.

It sometimes can seem like the list gets longer as time gets closer, all the little things you can’t do until the last couple weeks and I know first time moms usually don’t deliver early and I’m not going to say I have a ”feeling” I’m going to go early because I watch so many vloggers on YouTube who say that and don’t ever go in early. In fact they get induced, so I think I feel superstitious about it now. Ha!

All joking aside I don’t have any idea of when I might deliver, it’s kinda one of those things you feel like might never happen. I think it’s because I just can’t picture the day or him. Will my water break like in the movies? Will pains start that ultimately make me decide I need to go to the hospital? I just don’t know! I know nobody knows, so I guess I can trust my body. After all I ended up here, and people don’t stay pregnant forever. Even if you wanted too!

So people probably don’t want to stay pregnant FOREVER, but the fear of delivery doesn’t keep the baby inside either. Haha! So that brings me right into my next point. I’m not so much scared of delivery as much as I just hope I do ok during the whole process. I’d like to think I have a high tolerance for pain, even though I plan on having an epidural to manage the pain. I’m just nervous that some aches and pains I’m experiencing now on occasion may not be doing anything to get things ready, meaning what the hell is it going to feel like…haha.

I’m not in any pain, I feel amazing. I can sleep through the night, get around, don’t get overly tired, overall I feel like a bigger version of myself but little twinges here or there make me wonder if my body is preparing and if not then what is happening?! I think I’m just too curious, and want an answer to everything and one thing about pregnancy I’ve learned is people don’t really have them. I think some things in pregnancy are a complete and total mystery.

Now for the fashion

This top from Target is under $20, and everyone needs a ton of flannel. Do you agree? I mean it’s fall ladies! A black and white flannel is a closet must.

This bag!!! Are you obsessed?! I love the style and the inside of the bag is nice for staying organized. It has so many compartments, and is perfect as a day-to-night bag. It has a 14.5” padded laptop sleeve with magnetic closure, a 11” tablet pocket, 3 pen loops, a detachable keystrap, water bottle holder, zip pocket, phone or card case pocket, and additional large pocket for all your other must-haves. The color I’m wearing is sold out but it comes in a few other cute basic colors. I adore Dagne Dover bags and they have lots of styles to choose from, that will fit your wants and needs. They aren’t kidding when they say it’s ”The perfect bag for every occasion.”

Have a wonderful rest of your week and as always thanks for stopping by!

God bless

Non-Maternity Tank & Legging

Some more pregnancy style for you ladies. Since I’m sexy and I know it! Ha! Not really, but the best thing to do is stay stylish. Even if you are at a weight you never imagined your self to be at. I’m not one of those girls who are ”all bump” I’ve gained it everywhere I feel like. I’m just being honest! I know it’s worth it, a baby is a blessing. I’m thankful God gave me this little man! I still feel big though…haha. I think I’m allowed to feel that way. I’m not complaining because it is amazing what your body can do. I’m thankful my pregnancy has been a breeze. I haven’t had to many symptoms. Sometimes I completely forget that I am pregnant. So you know what that means?! I’ll probably have 5-6 babies! Yay!

Ok…ok. Maybe not that many but it’s nice to have the option if all goes as well as it has this time. I’m not saying I’m obsessed with pregnancy but it doesn’t bother me. I’ll let you know once I deliver him, since that’s the part I’m most nervous about.

Now back to styling the bump or not since this dress isn’t maternity, but I liked the idea of wearing it open more like a cardigan. That way I didn’t have to worry about a tan and could go with a more street style look.

God bless

Can you believe it’s the middle of the week?! Plus it was a short work week, I don’t want to eat my words but time is just flying. People tell me time will slow down and the final weeks of my pregnancy will drag on. I hope they are wrong! For now I’m enjoying the way time is speeding by, I also feel super busy…that helps.

In this look there really isn’t a ”bump.” This was a few weeks back and I didn’t feel like it had rounded out just yet. I like sharing it now because I don’t look as pregnant therefor that results in my friends not thinking my pregnancy is dragging on. So far so good! I don’t know if you’ve ever been pregnant or plan to, but people can say the wrong things.

In the final weeks I’ve heard people say to my pregnant friends { before I ever was pregnant}. ”You’re still here, I feel like you’ve been pregnant forever!” ”You look like you’re about to pop.” ”You look tired and uncomfortable, you’re going to go in early.” ”Oh sweetheart! You’re so swollen!”

So for the longest time, while I still wasn’t showing I tried to make people forget I was pregnant by only bringing it up when they did, or just answering their questions and then quickly change the subject. I started talking about it so much more by week 28-30 because I figured it was the final stretch. I might even back it up now, because 9 weeks to the average person is a little over 2 months but to a pregnant girl it’s the time to rush and get everything ready. I mean it isn’t even a whole trimester!

People think it’s ok to say rude things while you’re pregnant. I don’t think they mean it, or even know they are doing it. So pay no attention. Pregnancy {if you’re lucky!} is 40 weeks for everyone. So enjoy it! Once the baby comes, time never stops so you have to try not to blink. So I love those little kicks and bubbles because all to soon they”ll be gone.

Thanks for reading!

God bless

My first ”official” maternity look, featuring the bump and actual maternity clothes! Now at 30 weeks with my bump completely rounding out and looking less ”pouchy” and more pregnant I figured I’d do all the bump posing one girl could do. So let’s get into it!

Today, I’m sharing fall maternity style with Isabella Oliver. I believe that It’s so important to feel good about yourself in pregnancy, after all you’re caring and growing a tiny life in that ”bump.” The quality of this clothing is incredible, and makes it easy to stay stylish while pregnant. If you love fashion the way I do you will love this brand! Also, if you’re not pregnant you may want to consider it. Just kidding! If you’re still looking for Mr. Right or just not interested in having kids right now. OK… ok I’ll stop! In all seriousness you can shop their sister line Baukjen for all your non-maternity needs.

If you are pregnant you can shop Isabella Oliver online, or at Pea in the Pod.
